Our 2021 VBS program was titled “Concrete & Cranes” and the emphasis is building on the love of Jesus and showing students a foundation that lasts. The theme verse for this year’s program is Philippians 1:6 – “I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Our VBS motto was “Jesus Our strong foundation!”
During VBS students and adults discovered that Jesus’ love provides a foundation that will last. When the storms of life come, they’ll need the One who will be with them to the end of the age. When anxiety sets in, they’ll need the assurance that true worth comes from being a child of god, not from what other people think about them. When they feel unworthy, they can remember that Jesus loved them enough to die for them. They’ll learn to be wise builders who continue in what they’ve learned and firmly believe. And they will discover that He who began a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion.
Calvary Baptist celebrated VBS August 5th, 6th and 7th this year. We had a great group of kids and leaders. Everything went well and everyone enjoyed every minute of all lessons, games and crafts. We were fortunate to have school bags donated by the SBA. Donations from the church provided supplies for all school bags. Each child was given a school bag filled with school supplies according to their grades. The remaining bags and supplies were given to Schoolfield Elementary School for their students needs. Many thanks to one of our Bible Home Study groups who went out and purchased the school supplies and also stuffed and coordinated the bags.
