VBS for Calvary Baptist Church this year was the theme “Spark Studios”. It was held July 28, 29 and 30th. The motto was “Created in Christ. Designed for God’s Purpose.” Our memory verse was Ephesians 2:10 – “Created! Designed! Empowered! For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” The kids learned all about King David, a man of different interest, a soldier, a musician, a shepherd, and a poet. The Bible tells us that he was “a man after God’s own heart.” They also learned that we are all reflections of who God is because we are made in His image. He gives us creativity, thinking and reasoning skills, and feelings. From the beginning of creation, God has always been in control and working to bring about redemption for His creation. Our creativity is a gift from the One who created everything and designed us for His glory.
Bonus Verse: “How countless are your works, LORD! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalm 104;24
Through the bible and mission lessons, crafts, and music the kids had a great time. They enjoyed three days of fun, learning new things, playtime and fellowship. We celebrated with a hot dog luncheon on Saturday. It was a wonderful week. Thanks to the abundance of donated decorations and the many volunteers we had to help make this VBS a great success. We also had one child who accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized August 7th by Pastor David Bell.
